About The Project

The origins of the A Nation on Borrowed Time project actually date back to 1992, when Joseph Arvin published a booklet entitled, Our Economic Crisis - A Comprehensive Look at the Factors Which Threaten Our Nation, and Clear Solutions to Avert Economic Disaster.  In short, the message of this publication was that the U.S. must take steps to restore its industrial base in order to avoid economic decline in the future.  Arvin's booklet cited that the wealth generation of America's manufacturing engine was going to be essential for the economic future of the U.S.

Then came the economic meltdown that began in 2008.  As was widely reported, this recession was the result of the bursting of the housing bubble.  However, through further analysis by Arvin and his associate, Scott Economic Decline and Depletion of WealthNewton, it became clear that the housing bubble was only a symptom of a deeper problem that had been mounting for decades - specifically, the U.S. was experiencing the effects of massive wealth depletion through payments to offshore sources for energy, aid, political objectives, interest on national debt, and most damaging - foreign manufactured products.

Arvin and Newton then began the task of resurrecting an expanded and updated version of Arvin's 1992 message.   In addition to the resulting book entitled A Nation on Borrowed Time,  the message of manufacturing's critical role in reversing U.S. economic decline is available on the Internet through this website.

Obviously, for this message to bring about the implementation of positive corrective action, it is essential that the concepts it contains spread beyond the book and this website.  For this reason, this website will act as an ongoing focal point for uniting those supporting this message, and subsequently, present a unified voice in a call to the members of our government.
